Maku Condor Dress
This dress by Maku is made of wonderful soft handwoven cotton. It has a unique cut and takes on a wrap dress, instead of wrapping at the waist this dress buttons at the neck and hangs down. There is a hidden wrap feature keeping the skirt closed on the inside, but some may prefer to layer a slip or skirt underneath as there is no external tie - this is your choice! It is a really beautiful piece. Our lovely model Christie is 5'10" and is wearing the S/M.
This line has been inspired by all the species of plants and animals who have been extinct or critically endangered due to rapid climate change and deforestation. Each dress is named after such a specie. We have worked indigenous materials like eri silk (from mountains of north east of India) and desi wool from the deserts of India.
Maku is a line of clothing designed and produced in India featuring handwoven fabrics. Each season features a theme such as Endangered Species or Manufacturing in India.
