Unkruid is a collaborative project based in Antwerp, Belgium. All shapes, finishings and patterns are researched in-house. Natural fabrics are sourced from artisan weaving mills and sometimes custom developed in collaboration with them. Since this handcrafted process requires time and patience, production takes place on a small and personal scale. Therefore, each garment is part of a hand-numbered edition. An important part of Unkruid's fabric research is being focused on the aging process, when it comes to wearing and washing. Their design philosophy and fabric selection appreciates both the nostalgic rural landscape, but also a contemporary technical sentiment. This combination of old and new adheres to the stigma of being in the present, while respecting the art of craft invented in days gone by.
