Maku | Sherab Coat in Brown Burgundy Wool
DetailsOh my, this coat is so unique and stunning, and we cannot get enough of it! The coat is a beautiful wine/brown tone, so unique and stunning. The coat is half lined in beautiful hand-dyed silk, giving it a little extra dose of pizzazz. The coat is double-breasted with a tie belt and a full skirt. There is smocking detail at the center back that adds just the right amount of volume. We love that the tie has the matching silk from the lining so you get that little extra pop of pattern.
Maku is a conceptual fashion brand rooted in the philosophy of its founder director Santanu Das... At Maku the textile takes the front seat... The brand offers exclusively designed garments from the fiber to the rack using only hand-spun and hand-woven textiles in Indigo... The label believes in the slow fashion of handloom and organically produced textiles manufactured using indigenous practices - hand spun and hand woven - intrinsically bringing into focus India’s textile history... Maku designs are contextual to the community, practices, and individual skill sets. The brand works closely with Jamdani weaving clusters in West Bengal and is sensitive to the weaving history of its weaver community...
This lovely designer uses hand-loomed fabrics, variations in color and texture are to be expected. It's what makes this piece so special!
